Lease-to-own terms
Version 1.22.0 · as of 21.09.2026
1. Subject
With lease-to-own, the buyer acquires the domain against a down payment and monthly instalments. Ownership passes only after full payment. Until then the seller remains the registrant; the domain is held in escrow.
2. Use during the term
From the first payment the buyer may use the domain; it is forwarded to the address the buyer specifies. Use must be lawful. In case of unlawful use the operator may disable forwarding.
3. Instalments, surcharge, early payoff
Term, down payment, instalments, surcharge and total are shown before conclusion. The buyer may pay off the remaining balance at any time without extra cost.
4. Default
If an instalment is not paid within 7 days of its due date, the lease ends. The domain remains with the seller; amounts already paid are deemed a usage fee and are not refunded.
5. Transfer
After the final instalment, the seller transfers the domain to the buyer in accordance with the escrow terms.
6. Payouts to the seller
Each instalment received is paid out to the seller less the proportional fee. The seller keeps the domain renewed during the term and does not otherwise dispose of it.
